About an hour ago, I won NaNoWriMo. I staggered across the finish line with 50,000+ words of my new work in progress, FORTUNE’S FOOL, and I did it four days before the final deadline of November 30th. What’s more, I’ve got a workable first draft of what’s going to be a dang good book, even if I do say so myself. Stay turned for further developments.
This is THE COOLEST website! For my current work in progress, FORTUNE’S FOOL, I wanted to find out when potatoes Lyonnaise were invented. I turned to our friend the Internet, and bingo! Up came Feeding America: The Historic American Cookbook Project. Not just taters but every crumb of cuisine you can think of and its history is here. And you can download PDFs of the cookbooks. It’s a little bit of food history heaven.
